Highlight text on any website and send it straight here, without copying and pasting by hand.

Setup differs per device. Which are you on?

Chrome and Edge on Windows or Mac. Once set up, right-click any highlighted text and choose Paste to RSVP4Dingus.

This isn't in the Chrome Web Store yet, so installing takes a few manual steps:

1. Download rsvp4dingus-paste-helper.zip
2. Unzip the downloaded file.
3. In Chrome or Edge, go to chrome://extensions (or edge://extensions).
4. Locate Developer mode and turn it on (its position varies by browser).
5. Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder — the one that directly contains a file named manifest.json, not a folder around it.

Chrome/Edge may warn that this is an unverified extension — expected for a personal, unpublished one, and safe to proceed.

Safari and Firefox aren't supported — they need a separately built version.

You must install RSVP4Dingus to your home screen first. Android only offers it as a place to send text once it's installed — this is the step people miss.

1. In Chrome, open this site's menu (⋮) and tap Install app or Add to Home screen.
2. Open the app once from your home screen.
3. Now highlight text on any website, tap Share, and pick RSVP4Dingus.

Already had it installed? Android caches the old setup and refreshes roughly once a day, so the share option may not appear right away. Removing it from your home screen and re-installing forces it.

Sharing a whole page instead of a selection sends a link rather than the article text — highlight the part you want to read.

Apple doesn't let web apps into the share sheet, so this uses a Shortcut instead. Built once, it stays in your share sheet for good.

1. Open Apple's Shortcuts app and tap + to make a new one.
2. Tap Add Action, search for URL, and add it. Set it to:
   https://dingus-droid.github.io/brotherboard/?text=
3. Add a second action: search Text, choose URL Encode, and set it to encode Shortcut Input.
4. Combine them so the encoded text lands on the end of that address, then add an Open URLs action.
5. Open the shortcut's settings (ⓘ), turn on Show in Share Sheet, and set it to accept Text.
6. Name it Read in RSVP4Dingus.

Then: highlight text anywhere, tap Share, and pick Read in RSVP4Dingus.

Fiddly to build, but you only do it once — and it can be shared with friends as a link so they just tap to add it.
